John Gutierrez, Vice President Mr. Gutierrez is a Vice President of Avalion Consulting. He has more than 17 years of management consulting and industry experience in accounting / financial / operational business process redesign, internal controls and complex program management. He has consulted in a broad range of industries including hi-tech, consumer business, manufacturing, health care, telecommunications from Fortune 50 enterprises to mid-market companies. He has overall responsibility for ComplianceSet® and Business Intelligence services for the practice. Under his leadership, Avalion helped senior client executives achieve SOX compliance and led them through the transformation of their initial projects into ongoing, sustainable compliance processes. His thought leadership in this area enabled Avalion Consulting to complete development of their comprehensive, web-based solution, ComplianceSet®, which enables companies to proactively save up to 20% to 40% on their annual Total Cost of Compliance (TCC). In addition, he led the achievement of the firm’s three patents granted for the system, method and computer readable medium for accelerating the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance process for management of a company. Mr. Gutierrez has extensive program management experience leading large / complex business transformation engagements that included world-class implementations of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions to premier companies in many different industries. In addition, he led the development of the firm’s Business Intelligence service area capabilities which included rapidly achieving status as a Microsoft Gold Systems Integration partner. Prior to joining Avalion in 2004, Mr. Gutierrez was a Senior Manager with Deloitte Consulting and was recognized for delivering large, complex enterprise transformation engagements. With over a decade of experience at Deloitte, he was one of the firm's founding practitioners in the Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) practice and led the EAI financial service line for the Texas practice. Prior to Deloitte, Mr. Gutierrez was an accountant at Affiliated Computer Services (ACS). Mr. Gutierrez completed an Executive Program in Business Management from Penn State University and has a BS in Accounting from the University of North Texas. He was a certified Master Consulting Instructor at Deloitte. |
